Overview
Board members, secretaries and county HR practitioners carry heavy legal and ethical responsibilities. This programme ensures they have the knowledge and skills to discharge them well, from induction of newly appointed Boards to advanced training on emerging issues.
Key activities
- Induction programme for newly appointed Board members and secretaries covering the Constitution, the County Governments Act, ethics, recruitment, discipline and reporting.
- Continuous professional development in partnership with the Kenya School of Government, IHRM and universities.
- Peer learning visits and exchange between Boards.
- Thematic workshops: competency-based interviewing, handling disciplinary cases and appeals, HR analytics, succession planning, labour relations and change management.
- Mentorship of new Boards by experienced Board members.
